Clapboard Ride Tonight

It has been a week since I rode my bike last.  I was definitely ready to get out...  Yesterday was great weather.  Today of course was raining.  Regardless we headed out anyway and lucked out.  The rain stopped! It was pretty chilly on the road portion of the road.  Round trip from the house was 18 miles and 1 hour 27 minutes.  The single track was a little soft after the recent rain, especially as you head down into the creek area.

Findley

Pretty standard Findley ride tonight.  35 minutes to the top and 51 minutes round trip.  A great workout as always.

Route to Thompson Creek

It has been a few years since I went on this trail that connects east fork in Williams to Thompson Creek Road.  I have been thinking about riding over to Applegate Lake from my house.  It is about a 45 mile round trip to applegate lake.  There are some great trails up there.

Today's ride was pretty easy, most of it was road miles.  It was about 20 miles round trip and took me about 1hr 30 minutes.  My bike computer quit working, so I don't have an exact time and mileage.  There is only one short section that has a nice single track (only about a mile long). Below is my map.  It is a pretty good climb up to Thompson Creek- about 1200 vertical.

A new record

I headed out this evening about 6:30 and was hoping to beat my record of 35 minutes to the top of Findley.  One of my goals is to make it up that mountain without the granny gear.  I am not there yet but I am getting closer.  Tonight I got to the top in 34 minutes, pedaled to the landing and rested for a few minutes and then back to the house.  I made the round trip in 49 minutes.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  Got a little chilly as the sun went down.  I was wearing shorts and long sleeves.  Next time I could shave off another minute...

Panther Gulch ride to Findley Road

Another nice day today with sun. Little chilly today so we had to wear long sleeves with shorts. A longer ride up panther, take a right on the lower road with the gate, to the landing, took up the single track that connects with the upper ridge panther road. We took a little detour on a different road that stays on the ridge it was short but it was fun with lots of burms and a technical section with huge ruts in the road. Connected with Ferris gulch and then with Findley. Was a 20 mile trip back to the house and took about 1hr 45 minutes.
